How Can You Tell If Someone Has Implants?

How can you tell if someone has implants?

Some types of implants are easily noticed by the casual observer.  However if we are talking about dental implants, no one other than you and your dental office should know that you have them.

Today a dental Implant is usually the best choice for replacing missing teeth.  A dental Implant is the foundation within the bone that holds a tooth in your mouth. For simplicity’s sake you can picture it as an artificial tooth root, the main difference being that it’s made of bio-compatible material just like an artificial hip or knee.

Today a tooth implant is “the standard of care” which means it’s the first and best option to replace a missing or badly damaged tooth. In the past teeth were retained using heroic methods and the results were not always predictable. Implants have changed that as, when used in the proper situation, they have an extremely high success rate and give predictable and long lasting results.

Implants are also versatile. They can be used to replace a single tooth or all your teeth and numerous situations in between. Picture someone suffering with a complete denture. These poor folks have lost the ability to chew their food thoroughly, have had to limit what they can eat and have lost a considerable part of their ability to taste. They are subject to sore mouths the embarrassment of loose dentures and putting their teeth in a glass at night.

All this can be reversed with the use of dental implants. We can now go from rock and rolling dentures to a full mouth of naturally looking and functioning teeth. That’s just one example of the benefits of dental implants. There are hundreds of other scenarios where the results can be just as dramatic.

As always if you have any questions please call our office to discuss your particular situation. We will be glad to sit down and discuss options with you. It will be our gift to you!
